Wow! A blog post three days in a row! Go me!

I’m currently in Ohio for the weekend, visiting my uncle and the rest of my family. It’s just a small gathering before the fall semester starts and we all have to go our separate ways again. My mother, grandpa, and I arrived here at about 11am and while we were waiting on my father and brother to arrive, my uncle said he had a special treat for my older brother and I.

Apparently, my uncle’s coworker’s friend works for the PGA (Professional Golfer’s Association) and through him, my uncle scored some tickets to the World Golf Championships–Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio. Basically, the PGA selected the 50 best golfers from around the world to play in this tournament. I saw pro golfers from England, Australia, Sweden, Germany, Spain, and the United States. And in case you’re wondering, yes, I saw Tiger Woods. (He was already done playing when we got there, but I got to see him practice!) Now, I’m not much of a golf fan (it’s totally boring to watch on TV), but being at a professional tournament and seeing the players close-up was totally cool. I was literally an arm-length away from Swedish golfer, Alexander Noren. I would have taken oodles of pictures, but cameras and cell phones weren’t allowed past the entrance. Over the course of the day we bounced from course to course, ate lunch in the Championship Clubhouse, and got some gear from the gift shop.  My brother and I got a couple of tourney visors! So cute!

On a different note, I have spectacular news! I’ve got a new hostee, Eunjung! Stop by her blog and show her some love!

Came across some more great illustrations, this time by Endling, and felt inspired. Unfortunately, these sketches didn’t turn out so hot. My goal is to make really cartoony, even chibi-esque, illustrations. However, with my drawing style of eyes, realistic seems to be the only way to go. Looks like I’ll need to master drawing the human figure before I’ll get any farther with these!

I was roamin’ da Internetz when I stumbled upon some great illustrations by Lois van Baarle (a couple images are NSFW). Inspired, I grabbed a pencil and started drawing. It’s not one of my best works, but I spent a lot of time on it, so I thought I’d share. Click for a larger view!
