Okay. Got the blogging music playing. Let’s do this.
First, Project 365 is done for me. I haven’t taken any pictures during the past week. I just lost my interest in the whole project. My life runs on the same routine day-to-day, so finding new and exciting things for my photos was difficult. It doesn’t help that I’m not a “picture person” too. Some people love taking pictures, all the time. Others don’t. I belong in the latter group. I’m really bummed I didn’t follow through with it, but I’ve got other website project ideas in mind (i.e. a doodle/sketch blog)!
As you may have noticed, I absolutely love reading. This semester is a bit more laid back than my last, with oodles of free time between classes, so I’ve had a lot more time to read for fun.
Usually, when it comes to books, I’ll go through “phases.” Last summer it was fantasy, a few weeks ago it was travel, and now it’s mystery, particularly the novels of Agatha Christie! I’ve read some of her works in the past (The ABC Murders, Five Little Pigs) and now I’m hooked again! If you haven’t read any Agatha Christie novels, I highly suggest you do! Her novels are usually very short, therefore it doesn’t take very long to get to the good stuff. In the past two books I’ve read, a character kicked the bucket a couple chapters in, if not the first chapter. Also, Christie’s mysteries are suspenseful, yet simple enough for the reader to take notes and make his/her own guess about the murderer’s identity. I’ve just finished A Caribbean Mystery and now I’m on A Pocket Full of Rye. Afterwards, And Then There Were None. Yes!
So what brought on this sudden interest in Agatha Christie? Well, not too long ago, I caught the second half of a Miss Marple film, Murder, She Said, on one of those old movie channels. I just loved the idea of little, old lady solving murder cases! Here’s a YouTube trailer for the films 4:50 to Paddington and Murder, She Said (You gotta love the 60s music/cheesiness!):
Do you guys like mystery films/books? I’d love to hear about it! :D
New theme! Wahoo! :D
That adorable little creature in the corner of your screen is the cartoon version of my beloved moose, Milton! This is first time I’ve ever designed a logo from scratch!
Here’s the original doodle:
And here’s the final colored version:

Anyway, today was just another quiet Wednesday. Did some laundry, organized my files on my computer and external hard drive, and Skyped with Jamie! Therefore the Picture of the Day is…
…Updating my blog, I mean. The reason the updates have been minimal is because I’m on Spring Break! Even though I have research projects/papers to do, I’ve been spending the past few days chillaxing. It annoys me having exceedingly long picture posts, but I’ve gotta keep up with Project 365! Bring on the photographs…
Mar 04: Nothing very interesting happened this day, so I just wandered around my room snapping pictures here and there. This cool little dude is one of my bookends that sits on the top of my bookcase. (His sister is on the other side of these books.) The black book directly behind him is my dream journal! Perhaps one of these days I’ll type out one of the journal entries!
Mar 05: Went to Ryan’s, one of my favorite restaurants because of the epic salad bar. A load of vegetables on a plate is heaven to me. You know what else is good? Honey butter. I felt naughty eating it with my dinner rolls. It’s like eating dessert between entrees!
Mar 06: Saturday, Bingo Night at my house. Usually while the adults are getting their bingo game on, I watch the daughter of my mom’s friend. She’s about 8 years old and loves to draw. When it comes time for everyone to leave, I find all these little drawings around the house. :]
Mar 07: It was a gorgeous day outside, so I took my older dog, Sunny, out for a walk around the neighborhood pond.
Mar 08: Somehow, while talking my friend, Mik, we got around to the topic of coconuts. I tried to illustrate in words what is known, in Filipino culture, as the “horse.” The horse is basically a stool that you straddle (hence the name) and you grind the flesh of a coconut half against the toothed blade. The coconut shavings then fall directly down into a bowl that sits one the floor beneath the horse. And that’s how I grate a fresh coconut!
Mar 09: This is a prime example of why I hate driving. (I wasn’t driving when I took this photo, of course!) This guy was travelling at, like, 25mph on ad 40mph road because he had carefully stacked an entire set of furniture in the bed of his truck. This would have been fine and dandy if he STRAPPED DOWN THE FURNITURE! See that couch there? It’s balancing on the sides of the truck bed. This guy is breaking so many traffic laws. Unfortunately, we couldn’t break the traffic law of passing in a lane if there’s a solid line. Therefore, we were stuck behind this extremely scary vehicle for a good couple of miles or so…
Anyway, hopefully I’ll update again tonight! I’m also looking around for a new WordPress theme! Gotta keep the site fresh! Haha! :D
